Simon Thake - CEO

Simon is the co-founder of Rebound and is still the majority share holder. He formed Rebound in 2003, having previously left Azego in 2002 where he was the Worldwide Director for Semiconductors.

He started his career in electronics in 1982 with Abacus working via the youth opportunities scheme and was employed as management trainee within 4 months as a test case to pitch against the graduate scheme. He worked in the warehouse moving to expediting and stock records, eventually moving to the reseller desk and then quickly onto commodity management with the semiconductor division. From there he moved into direct sales within one of the group subsidiaries locally in Berkshire before moving once again to Polar PLC as a regional manager and then back to Abacus in 1987 as major accounts sales manager.

Simon left Abacus in 1989 to form Freeway and successfully built the company with a strong team to £40 million.

Simon then sold Freeway in 2000 to ACG AG. However, working in that particular environment for 2 years, was not for him and he decided to take a year out with the intention to form a new business, thus the Rebound Group was formed.

Steve Madley - Group Sales Director

Steve, along with Simon, formed Rebound in 2003 and is still a major shareholder of the company. Prior to Rebound he was Sales Director for Azego after its acquisition of Freeway in 2001.

Steve, when leaving college, worked in catering helping in the family business. His career in electronics started in 1983 when he was an electronic buyer for JPM. During the next 12 years his career moved forward to Purchasing Manager then Materials Manager, before moving into sales at Freeway and eventually becoming Managing Director of Freeway West prior to its acquisition.

Stephen M. Griffiths - Group CFO

Stephen joined Rebound in 2006, managing the finance and support functions. He is also responsible for business development in Central and Eastern Europe and the Far East.

Educated at the University of Wales (BA Hons. in German) and as a Chartered Management Accountant, Stephen worked at Rowntree Macintosh, now Nestle, before emigrating to Germany in 1980.

He successfully worked internationally for Sharp Electronics in Hamburg as General Manager responsible for finance, IT, logistics, sales back office and marketing; and later as CFO, Central and Eastern Europe for Ingram Micro in Munich where he led acquisition teams across Europe leading to a quadrupling of the company's regional sales.

David Myers - Group Marketing Director

David joined Rebound in 2007 as Managing Director of Rebound North and was subsequently appointed to the Group Board in January 2008. David is responsible for group marketing and promotion of the Rebound Group; he also has a small personal account base.

Prior to joining Rebound, David spent 18 years as a Regional Director for the Abacus Group; in 1987 he was a founder Director of Future Electronics UK.

David’s experience in the industry stems nearly 40 years when in 1971 he was a buyer for Lucas Aerospace – joining ITT Electronic Services in 1974 as a sales person in the north of England – in the late 70’s early 80’s he had his own agency business with Macro Marketing, called Myway Marketing. He returned to Electronic Services, then owned by STC, as Regional Sales Manager then UK Sales Manager, prior to joining Future Electronics.
